For 2002 the RS is updated with Triumph's new generation 955cc engine. Featuring high-pressure die-cast crankcases; lighter internals; revised lubrication and cooling systems and a new gearchange mechanism the new power plant is quieter at idle, more refined and more powerful. Peak power is an impressive 118bhp, backed up by masses of mid-range torque.
The highly capable chassis can more than handle the upgrade and remains unchanged, while the RS's lean looks are also emphasised by a striking new Acidic Yellow colour option combined with a new silver frame finish and black engine cases.
